Ricardo Mesa is an experienced finance professional with over 15 years in investment analysis, structured finance, and portfolio management, specializing in infrastructure and renewable energy projects across Latin America. He has built a solid track record in project origination, structuring, and execution, as well as in managing complex portfolios to deliver sustainable value.

Ricardo joined CIFI in 2016 and has held key roles in Structured and Corporate Finance and Project Finance. In 2023, he was appointed Head of Portfolio, where he leads the department responsible for optimizing client portfolios through strategic oversight, rigorous analysis, and operational improvements. His work ensures that CIFI’s investments align with long-term objectives and generate impact in infrastructure financing throughout the region.

Prior to his current role, Ricardo served as Investment Officer, spearheading the origination and structuring of infrastructure projects from prospecting to closing. Earlier, he worked as an Associate in Structured Finance at CIFI and gained extensive experience at ECOSolar and Grupo Ecos, where he assessed investment opportunities, conducted due diligence, and managed portfolio performance. His career began as a Financial Analyst at Banicol.

Ricardo holds an MBA in Finance from Universidad San Pablo-CEU, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Florida, and certifications in advanced project finance modeling and eco-energy financing. His expertise combines technical rigor with a commitment to sustainable development, positioning him as a key contributor to CIFI’s mission of financing impactful infrastructure projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.
